The Girona Art Museum was founded in 1976 as the sum of two remarkable collections. It is based in the old Episcopal Palace, one of the most noble and spectacular buildings in Girona, next to the Cathedral
In the museum you can see Girona’s art in chronological order through successive periods and styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Realism, Modernisme and Noucentisme.
The Art Museum also manages the heritage complex of the Old Santa Caterina Hospital, which houses one of the best preserved hospital pharmacies in Europe.
